Night and Day aims to reflect the simple bright moments and the character-building struggles of love and setbacks; to be an honest, anti-cool and unmasked depiction of the lives we live.
It seeks to explore the depths of happiness rather than the heavy and surrendering emotions that tend to come too easily.
Written on a long personal journey and produced in studio Farkosten situated in Altea on the Valencian coast, the music is easy to vibe to.
For this project, Freyr worked with producer Mattias Eklund, co-writer for Devin Townsend and producer for Lisa Miskovsky, as well as founder of the plugin company Toontrack.
Freyr’s album Nicotine Bunker captures the awe and contrasts of his first visit to the Pacific Northwest.
Across eight tracks, the half-Icelandic, half-Swedish artist blends folk and electronic textures shaped by the region’s scale and spirit.
Recorded with producer Tyler Neil Johnson at Greenhouse Studios in Vancouver, the album departs from traditional Nordic folk toward a more colorful and experimental sound.
Songs like “Avalon” draw on urban spirituality, “You Want To Love” channels raw emotion, and “Nicotine Bunker” celebrates the chaos of creative life.
The closing track, “Departure,” offers a quiet, reflective end to a transformative journey.
Freyr’s debut EP I’m Sorry reflects the blend of folk, philosophy, and wanderlust that defines his background.
Recorded with producer Tyler Neil Johnson, the five-track release captures both intimacy and exploration through sparse arrangements and emotional clarity.
The title track, “I’m Sorry,” pairs gentle guitar and layered vocals to recount a fleeting romantic encounter marked by beauty and distance. “Neighbour Boy” combines soft percussion and acoustic warmth to express the ache of leaving home too soon.
Throughout the EP, Freyr’s voice remains understated yet evocative, grounding the songs in honesty rather than artifice.
With I’m Sorry, Freyr introduces himself through restraint and sincerity, turning personal memories into songs that linger like half-remembered dreams.
